Shipping to Lebanon,

 

Further to our client advisory of the 13th and 18th of July, whereby it was declared that

 

  • All freight charges must be on freight prepaid basis and

 

  • For any cargo in transshipments ports, the voyage was terminated in Gioia Tauro Italy being the last hub port.

 

            Please refer to Clause 18 of the TLG Bill of Lading:

           

            18) Matters affecting performance

If at any time the performance of the contract evidenced by this Bill of Lading is or is likely to be affected by any hindrance, risk, delay, difficulty or disadvantage of whatsoever kind which cannot be avoided by the exercise of reasonable endeavours, the carrier (whether or not the transport is commenced) may without notice to the merchant treat the performance of this contract as terminated and place the goods or any part of them at the merchant’s disposal at any place or port which the Carrier may deem safe and convenient. Whereupon the responsibility of the Carrier in respect of such Goods shall cease. The Carrier shall nevertheless be entitled to full freight and charges on Goods received for transportation and the Merchant shall pay any additional costs of carriage

to and delivery and storage at such place or port.

 

            We regret the troublesome situation and will endeavor, to the best of our ability, to provide ocean service to preferred destinations. Shipments from Gioia Tauro are considered new and therefore will need new bookings with new documentation requirements.

 

            In case you want to ship your container from Gioia Tauro to an alternative port, the requirements are the following:

 

  • Requests for shipments to a new destination must be made to Transworld Logistics Group, Inc. in writing. The container number should be included in the request.
  • All ocean freight charges covering shipment to Beirut must be paid immediately and prior to any new arrangements to be made.
  • New shipment charges will apply along with storage and diversion fees depending on the new destination.

In case you wish to have your containers returned back to the US, a written request should be sent to TLG indicating the container no. and will provide you with total costs involved.

 

If you desire to retain the cargo in Gioia Tauro, Italy, terminal demurrage and storage charges in Italy will apply.

 

For the containers that are loaded and already delivered to the port, we are asking you to either change the destination port or make arrangements to retrieve your containers from the port.

 

We recognize the hardship caused by this situation and we will do our utmost to ease this burden.
